Corrections Policy

We make mistakes sometimes. When we do, we correct them quickly and openly.

How to report an error

Email gredmanews@gmail.com with the subject line "Correction". Tell us the story, what is wrong and, if you can, where the right information can be checked.

What we do

• We review every correction request and check the facts.
• If we find an error, we fix it in the story as soon as we can.
• For significant errors, we add a note to the story saying what was changed and when. We do not quietly change facts.
• Small typing and spelling mistakes may be fixed without a note.
• Stories that show an updated time have been changed after they were first published.

Serious problems

If a story cannot be defended, for example because it was wrong in a way that could harm someone, we may remove it and explain why.

Right of reply

People and organisations named in our stories can ask for their response to be added or for an error about them to be fixed. We will consider each request fairly.
